Heart of Wales Line Trail
This long distance trail runs from Craven Arms in Shropshire to Llanelli in South Wales.
The 143 mile trail explores the Heart of Wales Railway Line, a wonderful rural railway running between Swansea and Shrewsbury. On the walk you'll visit several train stations, old railway lines and photogenic railway viaducts. The trail heads includes sections through Shropshire, Powys, Carmarthenshire, the Brecon Beacons National Park, and the City & County of Swansea.
Starting from Craven Arms you head to Hopton Castle, Knighton, Knucklas Viaduct, Llandrindod Wells, Builth Wells, LLanwrtyd Wells, Llandovery, Garn Goch Iron Age Hill Fort, Llandeilo, Carreg Cennen Castle, Ammanford and Gorseinon before finishing at the splendid Millennium Coastal Park in Llanelli.
One nice idea is to catch the train to one of the stations and then walk part of the trail to the next station.
