Stanmore Country Park Shropshire
This 100 acre country park near Bridgnorth is ideal for a peaceful afternoon stroll. The park is
the site of a World War II training base and is criss crossed with well maintained tarmac paths taking you through the 80 acre woodland.
The park is located just to the east of Bridgnorth town centre. You could continue your walk along the Severn Way which runs through the town.

Just to the north there's Worfield where you can enjoy some pleasant trails through the valley of the River Worfe. The historic village is also worthy of exploration with its Saxon church, half timbered houses and the 18th century Davenport House.

Footpath into the Stanmore Country Park. Leads from 'The Hobbins' into the former RAF training camp now an 80 hectare Country Park.
Site of RAF Bridgnorth. The RAF training camp was established in 1939 on the high ground above Bridgnorth. The camp finally closed in 1963. Recruits were marched up to the camp from the railway station. All that remains of the camp is a memorial on a chimney stack.
