National Cycle Route 278 - Woolacombe - Georgeham
7.5 miles (12 km)
Route 278 is a scenic section of the National Cycle Network in North Devon, forming a loop off National Route 27, also known as the Devon Coast to Coast. Heading west from Route 27, the path passes through Georgeham, a picturesque village full of traditional charm.
Continuing north, the route passes Putsborough before following the coastline along Morte Bay to Woolacombe. At Mortehoe, it turns east, eventually reconnecting with Route 27.
Woolacombe Beach has previously been recognised as one of Britain’s finest. Mortehoe Museum offers insight into the area's rich history, featuring exhibits on shipwrecks and the evolution of local farming.
