Callander to Strathyre River Walk and Cycle
This walk and cycle path runs from Callander to Strathyre via Loch Lubnaig and the Garbh Uisge River.
The trail follows the route of the old railway line through the heart of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Passing alongside Loch Lubnaig, the path offers stunning views of the loch’s calm waters, framed by the surrounding mountains. The route is relatively level and well-maintained, making it accessible for walkers and cyclists of all abilities.
Along the way, there are several rest areas and viewpoints, ideal for taking in the landscape or enjoying a picnic. The route also provides opportunities to spot wildlife, including red squirrels, ospreys, and various waterfowl. At Strathyre, walkers and cyclists can explore the village’s amenities or extend their journey further along National Cycle Route 7.
