Elgin River Walk
This circular walk takes you along the River Lossie to visit the ruins of Elgin Cathedral. You'll also explore the pretty Cooper Park with its walking trails and lake.
The walk starts in the town centre next to the bridge over the river. You can then head east along the river to the historic cathedral. The medieval cathedral is known as the ‘Lantern of the North’ and includes some extensive ruins to explore.
The walk then takes you through the pleasant Cooper Park where there is a Boating pond and a Biblical garden. There is a car park here as well.
You can continue your walking in the area by heading east to visit the remote Loch Oire.

Cooper Park, Elgin. The Cooper Park was gifted to the people of Elgin by George Cooper in 1903. The boating pond is popular in summer. Though it was originally intended as a skating pond, the authorities now discourage skating for safety reasons.
