Glynneath Gorge Waterfalls Walk

5.1 miles (8.2 km)

Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This walk takes you to the beautiful waterfalls in Waterfall Country just to the east of the town of Glynneath in Neath Port Talbot.
Following the road east of the town you can pick up the trails in neighbouring Pontneddfechan. The path winds through picturesque woodland gorges, where rushing water and striking rock formations add to the scenic beauty. The path is mostly well-maintained and level, though there are a few slightly challenging sections to navigate.
Starting from the car park in Pontneddfechan, the walk follows footpaths north alongside the Afon Nedd Fechan before diverting left along the Afon Pyrddin to reach Sgwd Gwladus falls. After taking in the waterfall, the route retraces its steps to rejoin the Afon Nedd Fechan and continues northeast toward Sgwd Ddwli falls. A little further on, you reach Pont Melin Fach, where a riverside picnic area provides a perfect spot to pause. There is also an alternative car park here for those wishing to start the walk from this point.
After a break at the picnic area, the route follows the same paths back to Pontneddfechan. For those looking to extend the walk, there is the option to continue north along the river toward Coed-y-Garreg.
