Ennistymon River Falls Walk
This walk visits the country market town of Ennistymon in County Clare. In the pretty town you can enjoy a walk along the River Inagh with its series of cascading waterfalls.
These waterfalls are easily viewed from the bridge in the centre of town or from various paths that follow the riverbank. The surrounding landscape includes native trees, shrubs, and riverine vegetation, with occasional views of the town’s older buildings rising behind the river. The area supports typical Irish birdlife, with species such as dippers and grey wagtails often seen near the fast-flowing water. The river also contains a salmon gate, indicating its ecological value for fish migration. Walking routes around the river include paths near the Falls Hotel and a short woodland walk through the adjacent glen. Historical interest is added by the presence of the An Gorta Mór Memorial, commemorating those who died during the Great Famine, and by other features from Ennistymon’s past as a market and milling town.

The Lahinch Beach and Cliff Walk visits the area from the nearby town of Lahinch. It follows the Burren Way to the site, passing Liscannor on the way. It's a good way of reaching the cliffs from either of these two nearby settlements. You can also extend your walk along the Burren Way which runs from Lahinch to Corofin.
